Jake Wiid

I am a freelance consultant working with many schools and local authorities throughout the UK. I set up as a consultant following a successful career in the Outdoor Industry. I started my career as an outdoor instructor and quickly moved on to run an activity centre. This gave me the passion for, and understanding of the importance of safe and enjoyable educational visits. As a school governor I realised how tight budgets are and that often services such as ours are not taken up due to cost as apposed to need. This is why we focus on ensuring our services are cost effective without diluting the quality.

  • Educational Visits Coordinator Trainer (Outdoor Education Advisers Panel).

Suzanne Duerden

I taught Maths & Physics in secondary schools for over 20 years in Birmingham and in Lancashire and became a Local Authority Educational Visits Adviser in 2008. I have many years experience in leading offsite visits and in running EVC, First Aid and Visit Leader training courses, amongst others.

I am a walker and a kayaker but only for pleasure. I’m not skilled enough to be a trainer in those areas!

I served on the executive board of the Outdoor Education Advisers' Panel for six years, four of those as the national Secretary, and now undertake all their administrative work.
