New Enrichment Framework aims to “build skills and confidence for life”

The UK Government has this week launched an enrichment framework under the banner 'Every Child Can' to expand access to enrichment activities for all children and young people.

Alongside new non-statutory guidance and resources, the programme will deliver £132.5 million of funding for activities through schools, community programmes and beyond.

Aena badge replaces sunflower lanyards (Spain)

Spanish airport operator Aena requires that people with hidden disabilities and other needs use its Aena Badge at its airports in Spain, replacing the use of the sunflower lanyard.
If you are travelling to Spain with staff or pupils who would use a sunflower lanyard, you can instead apply up to 48 hours in advance for an Aena Badge.

National Educational Visits Conference

Thank you to everyone who attended the National Educational Visits Conference 2026. We hope you had an inspiring and enjoyable day of learning, networking, and professional development.

Almost 200 delegates joined us at the British Library for this year's conference, the day featured 20 speakers delivering four morning sessions, alongside 16 practical workshops covering a wide range of educational visits topics.

New opportunity: Immersive Visit Leader Training

Apply for a chance to join a fully funded training visit to Normandy with EVOLVE Advice and PGL Beyond, 19–21 November. Twenty eligible applicants will be selected at random and offered a free place.

Delivered by experienced Educational Visits Advisers, the training covers all content from EVOLVE Advice’s accredited Visit Leader course, with scenario-based tasks and group exercises. You'll also experience the accommodation, activities and excursions enjoyed by school groups, and meet the teams behind successful educational visits.

Eligibility: Open to those leading or supporting educational visits in schools or educational settings. One participant per school will be allocated in the initial selection phase. Deadline to apply 3rd July

Votes must be received on or before 31st July 2026 to be counted and are only accepted from EVCs, teachers and those working for a school, academy or college.

The winners will be announced during the School Travel Awards ceremony which will be held on Friday 20th November at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.

Brathay Trust - A Carefree weekend

In May 14 young people arrived for two days of adventure at Brathay Trust in Cumbria. Organised by the Trust and funded by our EVOLVE Advice Grant.

The residential centre offers every kind of outdoor activity, with the aim for the young people to set their own goals and choose their challenge.

It was a brilliant weekend away for a group of young carers, to give them a break from their responsibilities and give them the opportunity to meet other people their age who understand what they’re going through.
