Let Us Out! Campaign goes to UK Parliament
The campaign for residential visits for all children and young people went to the UK Parliament this week. At an event, organised by The Outward Bound Trust, MPs and guests from the outdoor education sector heard from 17 year old Freya, and Emma Bonnin, Head of Pakeman Primary School in Central London, about why these experiences are so important. Their stories helped demonstrate the way that educational visits and residentials can truly be life-changing, through improvements in mental health and wellbeing as well as opening children’s eyes to new possibilities.
MPs were encouraged to support the private members’ bills currently making their way through the UK , Scottish and Welsh parliaments. Find out more about the campaign and how you can get involved: https://www.outwardbound.org.uk/letusout.
