The National Educational Visits Conference returns to London on 13 June 2024 with a fantastic programme of speakers and workshops fully focused on EVCs and individuals with responsibility for educational visits in school settings.

Around 200 delegates are expected to attend the third Educational Visits Conference, organised by EVOLVE Advice, and which is being held at the British Library – a popular educational visits venue itself. This year’s conference theme is Be Inspired and delegates will hear from schools who have found innovative ways to address some of the biggest challenges faced by schools when delivering educational visits.

Sessions will be led by Educational Visits Advisers, legal experts, specialists in health and safety, providers and schools. Delegates will be able to choose from a range of topics grouped into four broad themes: funding; inclusion; making the case for educational visits; and risk management.

The programme includes training and development in core areas such as risk management and educational visits planning and each session will provide strategies and practical ideas to implement in your own setting. It’s an excellent way to stay up-to-date with the latest guidance and learn new approaches or strategies to support you in your role.

The National Educational Visits Conference will again be hosted by journalist and TV news presenter, Louise Beale, and this year’s keynote speaker is Rhys Jones, a world-record breaking mountaineer who uses his own experiences to inspire young people to achieve their goals through speaking engagements in schools and practical hands-on residential activity experiences.

Rhys says:

"Working with young people in the great outdoors is about as rewarding as it gets. Educational visits, particularly residential and adventure experiences, can have a lasting and hugely positive impact on children and young people. In facing and overcoming challenges they learn so much about themselves and their place in the world.

"As teachers and providers, we play a crucial role in creating these experiences and shaping the future of our young people. The National Educational Visits Conference is a great opportunity for EVCs to come together, learn from each other, and explore new ideas that will inspire you and your students. "

The National Educational Visits Conference is organised by EVOLVE Advice, the educational visits specialists. EVOLVE Advice’s Educational Visits Advisers provide advice, guidance and training to over three thousand schools in the UK and overseas. The company was founded in 2017 to help schools deliver safe and memorable educational visits for all young people and this continues to be the foundation of everything we do. Jake Wiid, founder and Director of Legal and Compliance at EVOLVE Advice says:

“The EVC role is an important one for all schools but it isn’t always given the recognition it deserves and EVCs can feel isolated or unsupported. The National Educational Visits Conference is a fantastic opportunity for EVCs and those responsible for educational visits to come together for a unique day of learning and development.

“Every session is designed to offer practical ideas and inspiration - you’ll go away with clear actions to put into practice straight away.”
