Code of Conduct

Information for participants in EVOLVE Advice online training. To maintain a positive learning environment for everyone, we have certain expectations that everyone must follow.

Online Training Code of Conduct

At EVOLVE Advice, we pride ourselves in providing high-quality, professional training for EVCs and Visit Leaders to help you fulfil your responsibilities and deliver safe and memorable educational visits.

To reduce travelling and time out of the classroom, we offer blended online training, where participants meet in a small group on Zoom for live facilitated training with one of our advisers. We recommend that learners join our training from home or from a quiet space in school where they are undisturbed for the duration.

We aim to ensure that all learners have a positive experience of training, including:

  • The training meets the stated learning objectives and requirements of your role

  • The training experience is positive, with effective teaching and learning taking place

  • You feel equipped and confident to apply your learning in your school or setting

Code of Conduct

Live online learning offers specific benefits for learners, particularly when school budgets and staff availability are stretched. To maintain a positive learning environment for everyone, we have certain expectations that everyone must follow. We will ask you to leave the training if you are unable to meet these.

This Code of Conduct applies to live online learning sessions including EVC Training, EVC Revalidation and Visit Leader Training.

Online Training Code of Conduct

I confirm that I will….

  • Participate fully in all activities and discussions – with no distractions from emails, phonecalls, work, or conversations with colleagues.

  • Join the training from a private room (where possible).

  • Attend the full session, on time, and complete any required e-learning before attending the course.

  • Ensure that my camera and microphone are working before the session and keep my camera on for the whole session.

  • Behave in a friendly, cooperative, polite and responsible manner towards everyone.

  • Follow all the following General Rules for Online Training.

General rules for online training

  • Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the course. Once the session has started there will be no entry.

  • Do not share the training link with anyone else. Only learners who have been registered in advance may attend. Uninvited attendees will be removed from the zoom call.

  • When you enter the zoom room, please ensure your display name is correct. If you sign up with a name that we do not recognise, we may need to remove you from the session. (ask for help if you’re not sure how to change this).

  • Children should not be visible onscreen at any time during the training. If a child is visible, we may have to remove you from the session.

  • Find a quiet, undisturbed space where you can complete the training, preferably at home or in a private room. Do not attend training while driving a car or doing any other activity where your safety is compromised by not paying 100% attention.

In return, EVOLVE Advice commits to:

  • Starting the training promptly and keeping to time.

  • Delivering informative and engaging training that meets the stated learning objectives and requirements of your role.

  • Maintaining a positive training experience for all attendees to enable effective teaching and learning to happen.

  • Providing opportunities for discussion and questions during the session.

Raising concerns during online training

  • Contact us immediately (via chat or by email to support@evolveadvice.co.uk) if you become aware of anything upsetting or inappropriate.

  • If you believe you are attending the wrong course, or don’t meet the course requirements, please notify the trainer immediately so that they can support you.

  •  If you believe that the course objectives are not being met, or that you are finding it difficult to keep up with the pace of the course, please bring the issue to the attention of the trainer using the chat function.

  • If you do not feel able to speak to your trainer about your concerns, please contact our support team support@evolveadvice.co.uk.

We understand that working in an education setting means you are sometimes faced with competing priorities and unexpected situations, which may make it difficult for you to give your full attention to a training course. If that’s the case, we’re happy to work with you to find an alternative date to complete your training.

Please contact us at support@evolveadvice.co.uk if you have accessibility needs that may affect your ability to meet the code of conduct, and we will work with you to make adjustments.
