Who is it for? EVCs, school leaders and all those responsible for educational visits in schools.

What is it all about?

Are you sure that decisions you make about including or excluding young people from educational visits are on the right side of the law? We’re joined by a legal expert with experience in school travel to look at how to approach planning, communication with parents/carers and risk management to support inclusive practice.

Your Speaker

Kate is an Senior Associate in the Education Team at HCR Law, advising educational establishments on a full range of issues relating to safeguarding, parental complaints, exclusions and required removals. Kate also has many years of experience supporting schools through First Tier Tribunal claims by parents/carers of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. Day to Day, Kate is involved with reviews of Parent Contracts and pastoral policies, and generally ensuring clients are always compliant with their obligations including under Keeping Children Safe in Education and the Equality Act.
