About Helena Cresswell
Helena (H) is one of our Educational Visits Advisers. She’s often found training EVCs, answering advice queries or reviewing visits for sign-off. She recently led our immersive EVC Training in Normandy. H’s love of the outdoors began when she was inspired on her first residential visit to a Derbyshire outdoor centre, as a wide eyed 11-year-old. Having never taken part in anything like that before, she came away knowing that “this is what I want to do for the rest of my life”.
Before joining EVOLVE Advice, H spent almost 20 years working in various positions for a Local Authority education department in the realm of outdoor and adventurous education, off-site and residential visits. H has both organised and delivered a range of outdoor and adventurous activities. Through this first-hand experience, she understands how important and valuable these experiences are to children and young people.
