Making the Most of Your Local Learning Area
This practical workshop will explore how schools can harness their local learning area to enrich and deliver curriculum learning. Delegates will gain insight into how nearby environments can provide accessible, low-cost opportunities to extend learning beyond the classroom.
Drawing on real-world implementation across Staffordshire since 2022, Stu will share proven strategies for mapping local learning areas, embedding them into school policy, and supporting staff through clear guidance, templates and resources. Attendees will also examine the measurable impact of this approach, including how it supports curriculum outcomes, engagement and inclusion, while reducing barriers such as cost and logistics.
This session is ideal for EVCs, senior leaders and curriculum leads looking for a scalable, sustainable model to maximise the value of learning outside the classroom—starting right on their doorstep.
