Safer visits for autistic pupils
Your speaker
Alison Elliott is an Education Training Consultant at Ambitious about Autism, the national charity supporting autistic children and young people and their families. She has a background in teaching and leadership in both mainstream education and alternative provision settings, as well as extensive training experience and lived experience of autism. Her work focuses on strengthening autism-inclusive practice in both mainstream and specialist settings through the delivery of training and tailored consultation.
This talk will provide a brief overview of the four areas of difference that most autistic children and young people experience and how these areas of difference may impact an autistic child’s experience of education visits. It will then focus on a range of practical strategies and resources that practitioners could use to develop more autism-inclusive educational visits in the future.
