What is it all about?
In this session, Mike King, Headteacher and CEO at Releasing Potential explain how to apply the principles of Positive Behaviour Management to empower you and your students to enjoy the benefits of outdoor learning.
This is a practical, reflective workshop that brings theory to life, demonstrating how it underpins effective practice. The Positive Behaviour Management approach draws on over 30 years of outdoor experience and forms the foundation of Releasing Potential’s educational methodology.
Your Speaker
Mike King founder and CEO of Releasing Potential, started working in the outdoors as a 16yr old apprentice and 40 years later is continuing to enable people to engage with the outdoor environment. He has overseen the development of Releasing Potential which is an education charity that comprises of an Independent Special School and an outdoor based Alternative Provision and Professional Development Programme. He previously served over ten years as a Trustee (and Chair) to the Institute for Outdoor Learning and is now on the Board of the Activity Industry Mutual.
He started Releasing Potential because he believes that interaction with the outdoors is a positive vehicle for change in people’s lives, enabling them to understand who they are and reflect how they can achieve their ambitions in life.
