What's new in National Guidance? September 2026

In September the National Guidance team updated 5 documents, with three revised changes and two minor changes.
Revised changes mean that some or all of the document has been updated, either to reflect a change in guidance or to add new guidance.
Revised changes have been made to the following documents:
4.1c Emergencies and Critical Incidents – Guidance for Leaders – Guidance now says that leaders can access emergency procedures (offline) on mobile devices.
4.5d Seat belts and child restraints – The guidance now summarises how the law applies to buses, minibuses, coaches and cars.
4.1g Model Emergency Procedures for Visit Leaders – revised the first aid section and added the possibility of emergency procedures being on leaders’ phones.
Minor changes are made to improve the readability, clarity and consistency of a guidance document.
